A decade ago, Choi Woosang was the boy who sat across from me in class, who smiled at my praise, and who offered a bizarre kind of comfort by calling me "pretty."
He was also the boy who broke me.
Now, ten years later, I see him again at a reunion. He’s still insufferable, still perfect, and I still hate him. I turn to walk away, convinced I’ll never see him again. But my escape is short-lived. He shows up at the shop where I work and creates a scene.
"Are you whoring yourself out now? Can you be bought with money?!"
"Yeah, money gets me everything."
What twisted fantasy is he living in? How can I make him leave me alone?
"Then my money will work, too, won't it?"
What difference does one more lie make between us?
